This two-day training provides participants with methods and strategies for using cognitive-behavioral and complex trauma frameworks to gain a greater understanding of why homeless patients behave in ways that seem self-destructive. The training also enables participants to understand their own emotions and behaviors related to these complex situations. As a result, and with sustained practice, participants acquire and improve on skills related to metacognitive awareness and perceiving small increments in change.

Stakeholder meeting held on April 30th 2014

The Patient Care Intervention Center had its stakeholder meeting on September 2nd 2014 , to discuss progress made on the project. We had representation from City of Houston, County Budget Office, County Jail, Greater Houston Healthconnect, Harris Health System, Healthcare for the Homeless-Houston, Houston Recovery Center, and Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority.

PCIC Kickoff!

The Patient Care Intervention Center had its kickoff meeting on April 29, 2014. The PCIC board and staff members were joined by representatives of the City of Houston, Harris County Budget Office, Harris County Jail, Harris Health, Healthcare for the Homeless – Houston, Houston Recovery Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority.
